    Bio
I used to do research on the identification of digital documents through the more or less consistent use of thumbnail sized images and 16 or 32 or 48 or 128 pixel square images (crude avatars, gravatars, picons, X-faces, favicons, favatars, glyphs, emoticons, smileys, ascii art, icons, and more realistic avatars) in slightly tweaked windowing systems. I still think about these things.

I read Franco-Belgian "bandes dessinées", aka "BDs" or "Bédés". I read Web comics too, usually in clumps of months or years.

I'm addicted to graphic representations of Science Fiction, from the Gustave Doré illustrations of Jules Verne to the latest animated SF short coming from "Les Gobelins" or from Blur Studio.

I watch broadcast TV for about 6 hours per year, nearly always in hotel rooms. I listen to commercial-free radio for about 20 hours per week, while going to and from work or while giving exercice to my pets. I spend about 2,000 hours per year on the Web or using the Internet in other ways.

I sometimes travel to Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe. My favourite country, as a visitor, is Danmark (Denmark) because most persons there are civilized and individualistic. This doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy France, during my 2007 summer vacation.

A few weeks before the summer of 2008 officially started I took a short (2 week) yet extremely pleasing and intensely memorable vacation in Austria.

I spent all of 2009 in Canada. My biggest trip was a five hour drive to Toronto (and five hours back), for the TCAF.

    Same thing for 2010.
